Breguet Celebrates Women and Watches at the Tourbillon Boutique San Francisco

San Francisco, CA – Wednesday, August 16, 2017. Iconic watch brand, Breguet, celebrated its unparalleled ladies’ timepiece collection with a private cocktail reception at the Tourbillon Boutique in San Francisco, hosted by Mr. Peter Kramer, Brand President of Breguet U.S. and Canada, and friend of the brand, Navid Armstrong.

The evening featured an expansive selection of women’s mechanical watches from Breguet’s Reine de Naples collection, famous for its homage to the Queen of Naples, Caroline Bonaparte Murat, for whom Abraham-Louis Breguet made the first watch in history designed to be worn on the wrist – thus creating the first wristwatch in the world. Egg-shaped and elegant, the Reine de Naples is one of the most recognizable timepieces for women that can range from simplistic to mechanically complicated, as well as contemporary to high-jewelry glamour.

A reproduction of an archive from the Breguet Museum in Paris, with an entry from 1810 of an oblong watch on a gold bracelet registered as No. 2639, was displayed at the event giving attendees a historical perspective of the wristwatch. Also on display was the exquisite Breguet Full Crazy Flower wristwatch boasting over 58-carats of diamonds. Priced at nearly $1.7MM, this watch features individually hinged baguette diamonds that allow the entire watch to flutter like a flower with the movement of one’s wrist.

Breguet is proud to have been the preferred watchmaker to distinguished patrons such as Queen Marie-Antoinette, King Louis XVI, Napoleon Bonaparte, Winston Churchill, Queen Victoria, King George V, Tsar Alexander I, Rossini, and many more legendary figures.
