True to its name, the newest iteration of the Defy Extreme boasts a classic stainless steel construction, featuring a fully mirror-polished exterior. Embracing the angular architecture characteristic of the Defy Extreme line, this model masterfully interacts with light and its environment, delivering an instantly captivating appearance on the wrist. The mirror-like effect extends to the openworked, multi-layered dial, showcasing a central element crafted from sapphire crystal with a metallic mirrored finish, offering translucency along with reflectivity. Additionally, the 1/100th of a second chronograph scale incorporates satin-brushed metallic components, ensuring legibility while maintaining a seamless flow and coherence to the distinct all-metal design.
Both the skeletonized dial and the exhibition caseback unveil Zenith’s iconic El Primero movement, providing 1/100th of a second time measurements through two independent escapements operating at rates of 5Hz (36,000 VpH) for timekeeping and 50Hz (360,000 VpH) for the chronograph function.
Enhancing the overall appearance of the Defy Extreme Mirror is an integrated stainless steel bracelet, also bearing the mirror polishing, contributing to its overall chrome-like aesthetic. For a striking contrast, there’s the option of either a black Velcro strap or a rubber strap, each offering a distinct look and feel to suit various moods. Zenith’s quick-change system facilitates effortless switching between the bracelet and straps to match different occasions seamlessly.
