A U.S. company has introduced two new submersibles designed to provide passengers with extraordinary views of the underwater world. Known as the Aurora 90 and Aurora 100, these submarines can accommodate up to five and seven passengers, respectively. The seats have been strategically placed beneath a stunning acrylic window to ensure that sea enthusiasts can enjoy sweeping cinematic views that extend nearly 360 degrees.
With a total of six powerful thrusters, the Aurora subs are capable of diving to depths ranging from 328 to 3,280 feet. They can easily navigate in all directions at speeds of up to three knots, enabling the exploration of coral reefs, ancient shipwrecks, and more. Weighing in at nine and 12 tons, respectively, the Aurora 90 and 100 provide up to 14 hours of autonomy, thanks to pressure-balanced lithium-ion batteries that can be recharged in just two hours.
Featuring sturdy metal hulls, these submarines can be used for scientific research or leisurely excursions. Both models can be equipped with a wide range of equipment, including cameras, sonars, robotic arms, and imaging tools. The rear hull section offers ample space for research equipment as well.
The top deck is constructed from synthetic teak and comes with retractable handrails for easy boarding. From there, a staircase leads passengers to the spacious entry hatch and into the bubble-shaped cabin. Inside, the space can be furnished with a sofa, coffee table, or other comfortable amenities. The front section is dedicated to passengers, while the rear serves as the pilot’s command center. Seamagine assures that independent manual controls minimize the risk of system failures, and there are redundant monitoring systems in place to ensure guest safety.
