LG Electronics is set to redefine smart living with its groundbreaking smart home Artificial Intelligence (AI) agent, set to be unveiled at CES 2024. Boasting a fusion of robotic, AI, and multi-modal technologies, LG’s smart home AI agent can move independently, learn, comprehend, and engage in complex conversations, positioning itself as an all-encompassing home manager and companion. This innovation aims to improve users’ everyday lives and is in line with LG’s ambitious “Zero Labor Home” vision.
The smart home AI agent features an advanced ‘two-legged’ wheel design, allowing it to navigate homes independently. The device can communicate verbally and physically convey emotions thanks to its articulated leg joints. It combines voice and image recognition with natural language processing to understand context and intentions, enabling active communication with users, and facilitating active communication with users.
As a mobile smart home hub, LG’s AI agent connects and controls various smart home appliances and IoT devices. Powered by Qualcomm’s Robotics RB5 Platform, it integrates on-device AI features, including face and user recognition. The AI agent collects real-time environmental data and provides insights into temperature, humidity, and indoor air quality. It is outfitted with a camera, speaker, and sensors. It is a pet monitor and security guard, enabling remote pet care and sending alerts for unusual activities.
Versatile and scalable, the AI agent autonomously patrols homes, notifies users of open windows or lights left on and conserves energy by controlling smart outlets. Upon the user’s return, it greets them, discerns emotions, and offers personalized content. Additionally, it assists users with transportation details, weather updates, personal schedules, and reminders.
LG’s smart home AI agent and active hub features are intended to free users from household chores and strengthen the company’s position in the smart home market. The unveiling will take place at CES 2024 from January 9-12, where visitors can experience LG’s latest smart life solutions at booth #16008 in the Las Vegas Convention Center.
