Miami, FL (December 6, 2023) – The 28th Annual “I Have a Dream” Foundation Miami Gala, hosted by Stephanie, Jules, and Eddie Trump of Acqualina Resort & Residences on the Beach, unfolded on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at The Diplomat Beach Resort. This enchanting evening successfully raised close to $1 million, benefitting the “I Have a Dream” Foundation Miami Dreamers – the promising class of 2032, currently in the 4th grade. The Trump family, pioneers of the Miami-Dade chapter since 1995, has been committed to transforming the lives of underprivileged children through education.
The gala drew the support of almost 650 South Florida philanthropists who joined 40 Dreamers for an evening filled with philanthropy and generosity. Attendees were treated to a captivating experience, including a silent auction with 50 enticing prizes, a live auction orchestrated by Auctioneer Jay Rokeach, and performances by Miami artist Cameron Wheeler during the cocktail hour.
The Diplomat’s culinary team curated a delectable four-course menu, setting the stage for a night filled with touching moments. Founder Stephanie Trump delivered an inspiring address, highlighting the pivotal role of the “I Have a Dream” Foundation’s Executive Director, Jonas Severe, and Project Director, Nicole Taylor. Heartfelt speeches, including one by Miami Dreamer Tiondra Wright, showcased the transformative impact of the program, with Wright sharing her experiences and commitment to always remain a Dreamer.
The gala also featured performances by the Dreamers of the class of 2032, including an orchestra ensemble and captivating dance performances that left the audience mesmerized. The event concluded with a high-quality stage production, featuring a blend of music, rhythmic drum beats, and a dazzling light show.
All proceeds from the gala will directly benefit the “I Have a Dream” Foundation Miami Dreamers, providing educational opportunities, fostering talent, and nurturing leadership potential for children in low-income communities. The Foundation ensures the academic tuition for these children at a Florida state university for a four-year degree or at an accredited trade school.
The “I Have a Dream” Foundation, founded by the Trump Family in 1995, has a remarkable track record. The Miami chapter supported the entire second-grade class at the Charles R. Drew School in Liberty City, with 83 out of 95 Dreamers graduating in 2005 and 54 graduating from college. The Foundation continues its commitment by supporting 63 Dreamers, the graduating class of 2032, offering them the same opportunities as the previous classes.
Acqualina Resort & Residences, the venue for this transformative gala, is a seaside luxury haven in Sunny Isles Beach. With 98 guest rooms, 188 residences, world-class dining, oceanfront swimming pools, and a marine biology-based children’s program, Acqualina is a beacon of elegance on the beach.
