Swedish luxury bed maker HÄSTENS has teamed up with world-renowned interior designer Ferris Rafauli to release an exclusive bed. Building upon HÄSTENS classic Vividus bed, the new collaborative piece is titled the “Grand Vividus” – and grand it is. A new level of comfort, craftsmanship, and luxury are brought to life in this continental bed, which retails for nearly $400,000. It should come as no surprise that Drake has fitted his Toronto compound with this extravagant masterpiece. As Drake told Architectural Digest:
“The bedroom is where I come to decompress from the world at the end of the night and where I open my eyes to seize the day — The bed lets you float …”
But what makes the Grand Vividus so special and worthy of it’s hefty price? To start, HÄSTENS has been crafting beds and other luxury home furnishings for over 168 years. It’s safe to say they know a thing or two about craftsmanship, and their expertise shines through in this incredible design.
By collaborating with Rafauli, they leveraged his keen eye for ultra-luxurious finishing and experience with elite clientele to create quite possibly one of the world’s nicest beds. Rafauli spent countless hours searching for the right fabrics and materials for this collaboration before even sketching the design. The resulting collaboration is a bed that not only celebrates Hästens’ heritage but has also undoubtedly earned its place as some of the world’s most lavish interior design. Unlike most beds that are currently on the market, the Grand Vividus, with its fine leather, polished wood, suede and brass adornments, along with its elegant architectural lines, functions as a piece of art and a majestic centerpiece for the bedroom.
New manufacturing techniques were taught and implemented at HÄSTENS Swedish facility, learning form master saddle makers to create exquisite details with absolute precision. The Grand Vividus, which is available in four color options – Black Shadow, Phantom Charcoal, Natural Shale & Traditional Blue – each have coordinating vegetable-tanned burnished leather trim reinforced with rivets in golden brass, nubuck, shagreen and mirror-finish wood borders. Weighing an impressive mass of 530 kilograms, the Grand Vividus can be crafted in sizes up to 3 meters wide and 3 meters long.
VIP orders are being accepted as of April 21, with the Grand Vividus available through Hästens stores globally from September 2020.
