Takeoff, the third member of Migos, along with Quavo and Offset, has died, according to TMZ. Around 2.30 a.m., the 28-year-old rapper, real name Kirshnik Khari Ball, was fatally shot at a bowling alley in Houston where he and Quavo were playing dice. Takeoff was pronounced dead at the scene. Lieutenant Salazar claimed 40 to 50 people were at the bowling alley when the shooting took place and two more people on the property were shot and taken to the hospital. Quavo was not hurt. Takeoff was born in 1994,in Lawrenceville, Georgia. He first collaborated with Quavo and Offset, his uncle and cousin, in 2008. As Migos, they released their first mixtape in 2011.
Versace, Migos’ breakout hit from 2013, gained wider attention after being remixed by Drake. In terms of legacy, it helped popularise the rap trio’s quick-fire cadence, with each Migos member’s flow instantly recognisable.
As a member of Migos, Takeoff had one UK Top 10 single in 2017 with the Calvin Harris and Frank Ocean collaboration Slide, and two Top 10s on the UK Official Albums Chart with 2018’s CULTURE II and 2021’s CULTURE III.
Migos were best-known outside the UK for their hit Bad & Boujee (which peaked at number one in the US), as well as collaborations with Nicki Minaj and Cardi B.
Takeoff released one solo album, The Last Rocket, in 2018 and had recently released Only Built For Infinity Links, a collaborative album with Quavo. The Music Group Migos
