Bruce Wayne might have driven Lamborghinis in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, but that hasn’t stopped Pininfarina from paying homage to the legendary DC character.
The Italian coachbuilder has partnered with Warner Bros.’s luxury brand Wayne Enterprises to create a four-piece collection of electric hypercars inspired by Batman’s billionaire alter ego. The lineup includes two limited-edition versions of the roofless Barchetta 95 (B95) and the Battista hyper GT.
“Designing an all-electric hypercar inspired by Bruce Wayne is a dream assignment for our team, giving them creative freedom to place themselves into the imagination of someone as iconic as Bruce Wayne,” said Pininfarina’s chief design officer Dave Amantea. “These two exclusive specifications for our hypercars represent the ultimate vehicles for the man behind the most famous mask in the world.”
Fittingly named “Gotham” and “Dark Knight,” the new editions evoke Wayne’s elegant, refined taste and Batman’s, well, superpowers. Pininfarina says the quartet showcases “many unique and previously unseen technical specifications.” The changes are mostly aesthetic, though the Battistas have gained extra air inlets in the front, new carbon wings in the rear, and fresh shark fins along the tailgate. The Battistas also feature new doors and a curved glass roof.
Reflecting Wayne’s sophisticated lifestyle, the Gotham versions of the B95 and Battista feature tan leather interiors and gray (Argento Vittorio) exteriors. Conversely, the Dark Knight editions nod to Wayne’s role in Gotham City’s dark underworld, combining black Alcantara and leather upholstery with glossy black (Nero Profondo) exterior paint. The Gothams are fitted with stealthy black alloys, while the Dark Knights sport ceramic-polished rims. Additionally, all models feature Wayne Enterprises logos throughout and a unique aluminum chassis and door plate. Arguably the coolest part is the new voice command system within the cars, inspired by Wayne’s loyal butler Alfred Pennyworth.
The powertrains of the B95 and Battista remain unchanged. All four cars are equipped with a high-capacity 120 kWh lithium-ion battery and four electric motors that can collectively produce up to 1,900 hp. The EVs can sprint from zero to 62 mph in less than two seconds, making them faster than a current Formula 1 racer and perfect for hunting Gotham’s criminals.
The collection is exclusively available on the BruceWayneX website. The Battistas cost €3.4 million (approximately $3.6 million) each, while the B95s are priced at €4.9 million (roughly $5.2 million) each. The hypercars will be showcased at an invite-only experience in New York City from June 3 to 10. The eight-day extravaganza, created by Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products and Relevance International, will spotlight an array of luxury products and experiences from the likes of McIntosh, Kross Studios, and Alpange Pianos. Perhaps you can ask your pal Bruce for an invite.
