Pharrell Williams’ Tiffany Titan Collection Signals a New Era for Tiffany & Co.

Tiffany & Co. has launched a new collaborative collection with Pharrell Williams called the “Tiffany Titan.” The collection’s name, “Titan,” is not just a clever wordplay but a nod to Poseidon’s trident, with spear-like spikes featured on necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and rings. This collection references Greek mythology and embodies the spirit of punk with its sharp edges. Much like the punk movement, which emerged from anarchy, each piece in the collection—crafted from 18k yellow gold or titanium, with all-metal and diamond variations—challenges traditional design conventions.

The Tiffany Titan marks a departure from the brand’s familiar delicate and demure pieces, such as the “Lock,” “T,” and “Knot” designs. Instead, the Titan collection juxtaposes hard and soft elements, featuring a motif that blends curved, soft links with the sharpness of spears, symbolizing fearless individuality. Pharrell Williams, deeply connected to the collection, explains, “I’m very inspired by the water, and the name of this collection, ‘Titan,’ draws inspiration from Poseidon, ruler of the sea, King of Atlantis.” “Atlantis” also refers to the community in Virginia Beach where Pharrell grew up. He further explains that every detail in the collection is intentional, with black titanium representing “a physical manifestation of beauty in blackness.”

To celebrate the launch, Tiffany & Co. hosted an intimate event at its famed Fifth Avenue flagship, The Landmark, attended by numerous celebrities including Pharrell Williams, ROSÉ, Blake Lively, Anitta, Rosalía, KAWS, Pusha T, Gabrielle Union, A$AP Rocky, Hannah Einbinder, Ayo Edebiri, Daniel Arsham, Maggie Rogers, and Tyshawn Jones.

The Tiffany Titan collection indicates a broader transformation within Tiffany & Co. and the luxury industry as a whole. It highlights the influence of Alexandre Arnault, the executive vice president of product, communications, and industrial at Tiffany & Co. Having previously secured Beyoncé and Jay-Z for a Tiffany campaign in 2022, Alexandre Arnault is strategically steering the brand in a new direction, especially as his father, Bernard Arnault, plans for succession within LVMH.

Additionally, the collection cements Pharrell Williams’ status in the luxury industry and within LVMH, as he takes on the role of Louis Vuitton’s new men’s creative director. By participating in the design process of the Tiffany Titan, rather than merely being the face of the campaign, Pharrell demonstrates his influence extends beyond music into fashion and luxury jewelry.

The Tiffany Titan by Pharrell Williams will be available exclusively on Tiffany.com in the US and at The Landmark in New York City this May. The collection will be available globally at Tiffany & Co. stores and Tiffany.sg in June.
