Netflix, the renowned streaming service celebrated for its popular cooking shows, is making a bold move into the food industry by introducing its very first pop-up restaurant. Dubbed “Netflix Bites,” this extraordinary dining experience will enable fans to relish delectable dishes inspired by their beloved shows.
Scheduled to debut on June 30 in Los Angeles, Netflix Bites aims to provide an elevated dining experience, featuring esteemed chefs who have graced various Netflix culinary programs. Esteemed chefs such as Curtis Stone, Ming Tsai, Andrew Zimmern, Dominique Crenn, Rodney Scott, Ann Kim, Nadiya Hussain, and Jacques Torres will be among the participating culinary artists. Additionally, the restaurant will showcase masterfully crafted cocktails by the renowned mixologists from Drink Masters.
Operating seven days a week from 5 to 10 p.m., Netflix Bites will also offer a delightful brunch service on weekends. Strategically located at 115 S. Fairfax Ave in Los Angeles, the pop-up restaurant finds itself conveniently situated across from the entrance to the Grove and the Farmer’s Market. This strategic move follows Netflix’s expansion into the retail arena, with the opening of its inaugural brick-and-mortar store at the Grove last year.
This pop-up restaurant serves as an extension of Netflix’s endeavors to captivate fans through retail and experiential content, building upon the triumph of previous activations inspired by beloved Netflix shows like Bridgerton and Stranger Things. The objective is to grant fans an immersive in-person experience, enabling them to delve into the captivating world of their favorite food-centric programs.
Josh Simon, the Vice President of Consumer Products for Netflix, expressed his enthusiasm for Netflix Bites, stating, “Netflix has already become a premier destination for adored food programming, spanning from documentaries to thrilling culinary competitions. With Netflix Bites, we are crafting a tangible experience where fans can immerse themselves in the enchanting world of their favorite food shows.
Curtis Stone, one of the esteemed participating chefs, shared his excitement, stating, “Sharing my passion for food with people worldwide has been one of the greatest joys in my life, but having the opportunity to offer fans a taste of what transpires on camera in a screen-to-table experience is absolutely awe-inspiring. With the gathering of talented chefs and mixologists, there is something to satisfy every palate. I am truly exhilarated that my team at Curtis Stone Events is involved in bringing Netflix Bites to fruition.”
Through Netflix Bites, Netflix aims to provide food enthusiasts and fans of its cooking shows a distinctive chance to indulge in the flavors and creations they have grown to adore on screen. Venturing into the restaurant business allows Netflix to further engage with its audience and expand its brand beyond the realm of streaming entertainment.
