Ferrari recently revealed their latest addition to the Prancing Horse’s One-Off series, the Ferrari SP51 V12 Spider based on the 812 GTS. The One-Off series is a special projects program that is aimed to create unique one-of-a-kind Ferraris characterized by an exclusive design crafted entirely according to the client wishes in cooperation with a team of designers from Ferrari. The One-Off Ferrari SP51 was created to the specifications of a Taiwan-based client, who is also one off Ferrari’s leading collectors.
The SP51 is designed by the Flavio Manzoni-headed Ferrari Styling Centre, taking on the layout, chassis and engine of the 812 GTS. The car is mostly characterized by the total absence of a roof, making it an authentic roadster in every aspect. It also features a new Rosso Passionale three-layer paintwork, that was specifically developed for this project giving it an elegant yet imposing character. Further enhancing this impression is the blue and white livery that was inspired by the legendary 1955 Ferrari 410 S and runs the entire length of the car, continuing through the interior.
For the Alcantara trim in the cabin they used the same Rosso Passionale colour custom-created for the exterior, finished with a white blue stitching on the central tunnel, the two seats and the steering wheel, creating a sense of seamless continuity between exterior and interior.
Also specific to the design are the specially-designed headlights and the diamond-cut wheels with carbon fiber wing profile spokes that give the car an instantly recognizable and forceful identity of its own.
