Foods and Beyond Meat, the two largest players in the plant-based burger space, are leading this charge. Both companies have used new techniques in food science to design plant-based (vegan) patties that look, taste, and feel like a beef burger: famously,

and Beyond reports that 93% of people buying the Beyond Burger patty also put meat in their grocery basket. In other words, Beyond and Impossible appear to have found the holy grail of plant-based meat substitutes: acceptance with regular meat eaters.
