Dating back to 1846, Ulysse Nardin founded his eponymous timepiece company, inspired by the movement of the ocean and quest for continuous innovation. Drawing upon the energy and constant flow of the sea, Ulysses Nardin timepieces are designed with a nautical spirit and practical purpose. At the time of the brand’s emergence, one of a sea captain most prized possessions was in fact his pocket watch. It comes as no surprise that this very such timepiece, the Marine Chronometer by Ulysse Nardin, became coveted by naval officers and captains around the world. Their marine deck chronometer was used extensively by over 50 navies and international shipping companies given the precision and efficiency of the instrument.  As the company evolved over the years, the focus has transitioned more towards wrist watches which uphold the same nautical spirit and technical expertise that Ulysse Nardin was founded upon.
