Rihanna’s former Beverly Hills residence, which she inhabited from 2009 to 2011, continues to capture buyers’ hearts, dispelling any notions of it being a hopeless place. The house, characterized by its modern and boxy design, marked the Barbadian superstar’s initial property ownership in Los Angeles. Over the subsequent 12 years, the ownership of this contemporary dwelling has shifted amongst multiple buyers.
In the most recent transaction, just last month, Rihanna’s former Beverly Hills home changed hands for $15 million. The buyer is tied to Jeremy Troxel, a 35-year-old attorney and the founder of Troxel Law firm. Notably, Troxel Law has gained significant recognition in recent years for initiating multiple class action lawsuits against prominent corporations including Tylenol, Coinbase, Juul, and Major League Baseball.
Despite being a substantial sum, the $15 million sale price represents a notable financial setback for the previous owners, Dr. Sheldon Elman and Dr. Meryl Elman, who are Canadian healthcare entrepreneurs. They had originally purchased the property from John Legend and Chrissy Teigen for $16.8 million. Legend and Teigen had possessed the residence from 2016 to 2021.
Originally constructed in 1966 and situated in the elevated terrain above Coldwater Canyon in Beverly Hills, the house underwent a comprehensive reconstruction and expansion in the 2000s. During John Legend and Chrissy Teigen’s ownership, they undertook renovations on the property, including the addition of an intricately patterned ceiling imported from Thailand. The couple also revamped the interior and exterior by repainting walls, enhancing the custom kitchen, and refinishing the wide-plank oak floors.
The expansive 8,500-square-foot house boasts a substantial double-sided fireplace dividing the generous family and living rooms. The primary suite on the upper level, one of the five bedrooms, showcases an artisanal brass fireplace, a private balcony, a designated “glam room,” and dual showroom-style closets. The outdoor space features a heated saltwater pool with a dark bottom, offering breathtaking views of the canyon. Adorned with vines, a pergola houses a built-in BBQ grill and a wood-burning oven. The property also includes a gym and a movie theater.
Rihanna, now a billionaire due to her successful Fenty cosmetics and fashion brand, maintains multiple residences. Besides the former Beverly Hills property, she possesses another home in Beverly Hills and two opulent condos in The Century skyscraper in Century City. One of these condos is valued at $21 million. On the other hand, Jeremy Troxel and his partner Kristi Piacentile lease a luxury home in L.A.’s Beachwood Canyon area and own a second mansion located in Scottsdale, Arizona.
