Inside Canyon Ranch Austin, the Largest Spa in Texas

Canyon Ranch has opened the doors to its new 600-acre destination in Texas Hill Country, unveiling Canyon Ranch Austin as the largest spa in Texas and the brand’s most ambitious property to date. The resort, designed by Lake Flato, sits less than an hour from downtown Austin, with 1.5 miles of Lake Travis shoreline, expansive trails, and 141 rooms overlooking rolling hills and water. The opening, overseen by Canyon Ranch CEO Mark Rivers, brings together modern medicine, advanced spa and fitness, and fine dining under one roof, with a focus on integrative wellness and hospitality.

At the center of the property is the 40,000-square-foot spa, which the company calls the largest in Texas. The spa includes 40 treatment rooms, a salon and boutique, two pools, hydrotherapy gardens, and immersive rain showers, as well as men’s, women’s, and co-ed lounges. Guests have access to a wide menu of treatments, from massages and facials to cosmetic acupuncture, sauna breathwork, and emerging technologies in recovery and beauty. The spa will also host exclusive programming, including a weekend with celebrity facialist Iván Pol, creator of The Beauty Sandwich.

The resort’s culinary program is led by Culinary Director Chef Val Cantú, a Central Texas native and holder of three Michelin stars for Californios in San Francisco. Estella, the fine-dining restaurant, brings Cantú’s approach to wellness cuisine, while Executive Chef Blake Ransom oversees daily menus across the property. The Flying X Café serves as a casual option for all-day dining. Meals, snacks, and nonalcoholic beverages are included in the all-inclusive stay, and the property has introduced a wine and spirits program.

The company describes its fitness, recovery, and medical spaces as some of the most advanced in American hospitality. The Barn, a 27,000-square-foot fitness complex, houses a gym, movement studios, yoga deck, and outdoor fields. The Wellspring medical center spans 12,000 square feet and is staffed by physicians and clinicians, with services ranging from diagnostics to the CR Vitality recovery lab. The resort’s calendar offers over 30 daily activities, including traditional and innovative fitness classes, trail running, HYROX-style training, and recovery experiences, along with songwriting workshops, sound experiences, and outdoor adventures.

A central feature is the Women’s Wellness Collective, a dedicated program and team focused on women’s health, combining conventional medicine with complementary practices. Services include DEXA scans, hormone therapy, and retreats on topics such as menopause, sexual health, and aging. The Collective’s first retreat, Sex, Skin and Sleep, is scheduled for November 12 to 15. That brings together medical experts and wellness specialists for in-depth programming. Additional events, such as a retreat with Camila Alves McConaughey and health and performance sessions with Dr. Stacy Sims, are planned for the coming months.

The Ranch Home Collection, according to the company, includes homesites on the property, with residences starting at $3.8 million. Canyon Ranch says each home is designed by Lake Flato and includes access to concierge health care.

Guests arriving at Canyon Ranch Austin are met with a dedicated fleet of Genesis vehicles for transfers from Austin-area airports, integrating the journey into the all-inclusive experience. The resort’s approach brings together spa, medicine, fitness, and culinary experiences, supported by a team of specialists in each discipline.
