The Rolls-Royce Cullinan has taken a leap into the cosmos with its new and exclusive model, the “Blue Shadow” from the Black Badge collection. Inspired by the Kármán Line, the symbolic boundary between Earth and outer space, this bespoke vehicle captures the allure and enigma of the universe while providing unmatched luxury and comfort. Only 62 examples of the mesmerizing “Blue Shadow” have been created, available exclusively through Rolls-Royce’s Private Offices.
Torsten Müller-Ötvös, the CEO of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, describes the “Blue Shadow” as a testament to their unwavering pursuit of perfection and a tribute to those who push boundaries and embody the essence of human endeavor. It represents a celebration of the spirit of exploration.
The exterior of the “Blue Shadow” is adorned with a captivating shimmering hue known as “Stardust Blue,” reminiscent of the deep blue tones found in the upper layers of the Earth’s atmosphere. The satin-tinted grille surround and aero bumper insert pay homage to the thermal tiles used to safeguard space shuttles during re-entry into the Earth’s atmosphere.
Craftsmanship meets space technology in the creation of the iconic Spirit of Ecstasy, utilizing materials akin to those found in spacecraft. Through a 3D printing technique, the Spirit of Ecstasy is crafted with titanium and coated with a layer of blue-tinted lacquer, resulting in a pearlescent finish that accentuates the texture of the titanium. The base of the Spirit of Ecstasy proudly displays the engraved Black Badge infinity logo and the name of the “Blue Shadow” Private Collection, filled with Charles Blue accents. The wheels of the “Blue Shadow” are subtly darkened with translucent lacquer, completing the striking exterior appearance.
The Starlight Headliner, with its 1,183 stars meticulously inserted into the leather canvas, creates an ambiance of wonder and enchantment. Comprising 799 white and 384 blue lights, each star is placed with precision, the result of hand-marked and punched perforated holes in the leather.
To complement the “Blue Shadow” experience, a range of accessories is offered, including a matching luggage set that mirrors the car’s colorway. Additionally, owners have the opportunity to commission a 1:8 scale replica of the Black Badge Cullinan “Blue Shadow,” complete with functional lights, coach doors, and a meticulously detailed interior. All 62 units of this exceptional vehicle have already been acquired by their discerning owners.
