Delta Air Lines will introduce a new Delta One business class suite on its incoming Airbus A350-1000 fleet, with the first aircraft entering service in early 2027. The new suite, built on the Thompson Aero Seating VantageNOVA platform, marks the airline’s first major business class hardware overhaul in nearly a decade and will be the centerpiece of its premium transpacific and transatlantic operations. The A350-1000s will feature 53 identical Delta One suites, each designed for consistency and privacy across the forward cabin.
The VantageNOVA suite brings a layout with all passengers having direct aisle access, full-length doors for privacy, and beds that convert to a fully flat position stretching 80 inches. Passengers will have direct aisle access and a fully flat sleeping surface, with a high-definition 24-inch 4K inflight entertainment screen, Bluetooth audio pairing, and universal power outlets at every seat. The seat structure integrates a zero-gravity recline mechanism to reduce lower back pressure on long flights, and storage includes dedicated compartments for personal electronics and a wireless charging pad.
Delta has tailored the VantageNOVA hardware with extensive custom engineering, a process Thompson Aero referred to as “Deltafication.” The suite features automotive-inspired tactile control buttons shaped like the seat, custom polystone consoles engineered to mirror real marble, and deep blue and charcoal upholstery with signature red accent stitching. Missoni bedding will be provided for Delta One passengers, and walk-up snack bars will be available in the forward galley.
Ranjan Goswami, Delta’s chief marketing and product officer, described the new offering as part of a “deliberate strategy to deliver the industry’s most consistent and elevated customer experience.” Erik Snell, chief financial officer, said, “Each aircraft we bring in has more premium seats because we know the demand is there and there’s a lot of opportunity to continue to serve that demand.”
New food and beverage options will launch alongside the suite, including Delta becoming the first airline to offer Blanton’s Kentucky bourbon in-flight, served complimentary in mini bottles. The menu will include a burger made with Wagyu beef, a sea bass dish in the style of Hong Kong cuisine, and a risotto adapted for in-flight service. A new wine program, cocktails, and mocktails will also be introduced. These upgrades will begin on transoceanic flights out of Los Angeles starting November 3, before rolling out across Delta’s global network with the arrival of the A350-1000 in early 2027.
Delta’s commercial approach with the new Delta One suite is to provide a uniform, single-tier business class product. That gives every passenger the same seat pitch, screen size, and privacy area regardless of their row. This focus on consistency is aimed at corporate contract buyers and high-yielding business travelers. The airline’s revenue from premium product tickets increased 18% in the third quarter compared with the previous year, outpacing main cabin ticket growth.
The magazine has also looked at Delta’s Porsche connections at LAX and the lavish revolution in premium air travel.
Delta’s new Delta One suite will be available on its Airbus A350-1000 fleet from early 2027, with new food and beverage experiences launching first on flights from Los Angeles in November and expanding network-wide in March 2027.
