British Airways has revealed the interiors of its refurbished Airbus A380, set to enter service in the coming months with what the airline calls the world’s largest business class cabin. The first of the carrier’s twelve A380s is currently completing its retrofit, a process involving the installation of over 35,000 individual parts per aircraft. The redesign marks one of the most extensive cabin transformations British Airways has undertaken, with new seats and updated interiors across all four cabins.

The most substantial change is on the upper deck, which now holds 106 Club Suite seats. That makes it the largest business class section on any commercial aircraft. These suites, arranged across four zones, replace the previous mixed-deck business class layout and provide each passenger with direct aisle access, privacy doors, and a fully flat bed. The refreshed Club Suite design introduces navy, red, and cream accents, updated storage solutions, and a more contemporary finish. Sean Doyle, British Airways Chairman and CEO, described the project as “a major milestone for British Airways and the future of our A380 fleet, marking one of the most significant transformations we’ve ever undertaken on any aircraft.”

The main deck begins with the new First Class section, now reduced from 14 to 12 suites for greater space and privacy. Each suite includes a large entertainment display, a fully flat bed, personal wardrobe, and an ottoman for face-to-face dining. The new First suite, finished with lighter colors and sound-insulating cream walls, was developed by British designers and manufacturers. Passengers traveling together in center suites can open a divider to create a shared lounge, while bespoke bedding and a day blanket in herringbone design enhance comfort. The First amenity kit, created with heritage house Swaine, includes skincare products from Wildsmith and will be available from early October.

Behind First, the World Traveller Plus cabin has expanded from 55 to 84 seats. That makes it one of the largest premium economy sections in the sky. The seats feature larger entertainment screens, privacy wings, and new bedding. Passengers receive a reusable amenity kit designed as a tote bag, including items such as Dr.PAWPAW balm and travel essentials. The World Traveller Plus section now occupies the lower deck and adopts a 2-4-2 layout, with improved privacy and upgraded upholstery.

Economy, or World Traveller, now seats 215 passengers, down from 303, and introduces wider fabric seats, adjustable headrests, and larger 12-inch entertainment screens. New pillows with a herringbone pattern and plusher blankets in British Airways’ signature blue and red provide added comfort. The main deck’s layout reflects a shift towards a more premium-focused configuration, with fewer overall seats but a higher proportion in business and premium economy.

The changes also include new amenity kits and bedding in every cabin, along with updated dining in First. The dining program includes a new ‘From the Grill’ concept. That allows First passengers to customize meals with premium proteins and sides. A bespoke mini bar is integrated into each First suite, stocked with snacks and drinks. The tableware, developed with Studio William and Richard Brendon, includes fine bone china and glassware selected with wine expert Jancis Robinson. Specially trained First Service Specialist crew will deliver the new service, supported by an updated training program.

British Airways is also renovating its Heathrow lounges, beginning with the First Wing and First Lounge at Terminal 5, to align the ground experience with the upgraded A380 interiors. The new bedding and amenity kits for First and World Traveller Plus will be introduced across the long-haul fleet as a phased rollout from October and November. The airline hasn’t yet published a full list of routes for the retrofitted A380, so travelers are advised to check aircraft details for their flights.
