Pictures, unveils a duo of exclusive timepieces paying homage to the forthcoming superhero film “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.” These limited-edition watches are derived from the acclaimed Aquatimer Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month collection, initially introduced in 2017, featuring a striking Ceratanium case. The release comprises two distinct editions, each restricted to a mere 25 units, drawing inspiration from the prop watches donned by the movie’s antagonists: Black Manta portrayed by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Dr. Stephen Shin portrayed by Randall Park. Emulating the aesthetic of these prop watches, both exclusive timepieces showcase a sleek all-black exterior accentuated by vividly contrasting elements in either red or blue hues.
These Aquaman-themed watches make a bold statement with their substantial dimensions, measuring 49mm in width and 19.5mm in thickness, ranking among the largest and most audacious models ever crafted by IWC. Despite their imposing size, wearability remains a priority, facilitated by the utilization of IWC’s Ceratanium material—a proprietary amalgamation of titanium and ceramic. Additionally, these watches feature the SafeDive System bezel, ensuring inadvertent adjustments to dive time by enabling adjustments only in a counterclockwise direction. Furthermore, boasting 100 meters of water resistance, they offer both style and substance.
The dials of both variants echo the chosen red or blue themes, embellishing the hands, inner bezel, and dial with Super-Luminova accents. A captivating honeycomb pattern graces the calendar display, offering a glimpse into the intricate movement encased within. Displaying a perpetual calendar with digital date and month indications, these timepieces prioritize legibility and functionality.
At the heart of the Aquatimer Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month beats the in-house caliber 89802, an automatic integrated column-wheel chronograph featuring a flyback function. This sophisticated movement operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour, ensuring precision, and offers an impressive 68-hour power reserve. Available exclusively at select IWC boutiques, these exclusive watches bear a price tag of $57,600 each, embodying the fusion of cutting-edge craftsmanship and cinematic inspiration.
