Everywhere you look is a beckoning invitation to engage and enjoy. Sit at the fully equipped bar, upholstered in sumptuous green leather topped in a pale blue marble with toffee accents counter. Every imaginable high-tech appliance is cleverly integrated into the custom cabinetry, with a view of the temperature-controlled wine room with floor to ceiling humidor and adjacent cheese and meat tasting room. Display plays as much a priority as storage to create an authentic experience rooted in their beloved Italian traditions. Lower ceilings, too often ignored are met head on by Lori and become a deco inspired design feature clad in a wood and pale blue millwork with matching chevron wood floors infusing a casual warmth.
A generous, custom sectional draped in dark green and black sultry velvets, anchors the primary seating area. A black lacquer and brass coffee table from the Lori Morris collection and custom black velvet club chairs with brass accents, complete the vignette, gathered around a fireplace and oversized TV wall, clad in green back painted glass and brass strapping. Additional seating is offered with a custom banquet nestled in the bump out space and continues with brass and black chairs tucked in behind the sofa with a custom pastel blue console table. All this glamour culminates well beyond the clients’ leisure and culinary expectations, when their dream is fully realized with the customized, regulation bowling alley, complete with a fully automated scoring system and hand painted wall mural. The theatre was designed for this movie lover family to be plush, lush and edgy with an Art Deco vibe as a nod to old Hollywood. Upholstered paneled walls with millwork design inserts play a glamorous foil to the rich chocolate custom cabinetry, gold accents and oversized chocolate velvet seating. A bar and fridge are cleverly hidden for storing the family’s favourite drinks and snacks with plenty of additional storage and counter space for popcorn bowls and serving trays.
Lori takes a decisive turn with the colour palette when it comes to designing the spa. Pastel blues, billowy whites and soft wood tones create a sense of serene sophistication in this custom oasis, from the floral motifs on the vanity and shower doors to the abundant storage discreetly concealed by high gloss lacquer cabinetry with mirror inserts and brass strapping. Amenities are customized to fulfill the clients’ requirements and are intended to facilitate the outdoor amenities with a sauna, steam shower and separate water closet. The space is made complete with the personalized ‘glam’ area including a custom makeup vanity with recessed lighting and hair washing chair and plenty of storage space.
Working with the clients’ vision in mind, Lori Morris reimagined this entire space to offer a new adventure in sensibilities with an emphasis on their personal tastes and fun-loving personalities, where a sense of belonging is redefined and becomes clearly understood by this family.
