The Peninsula London Opens It’s Doors

Peninsula

Renowned architect and interior designer Peter Marino has ventured into the UK hotel scene with The Peninsula London, marking his first foray into British hospitality. The hotel boasts 190 exquisitely styled guest rooms and suites, complemented by an additional 25 luxury residences.

Nestled in the heart of Belgravia, at 1 Grosvenor Place, the hotel offers captivating views of Hyde Park Corner and the Wellington Arch from its front-facing rooms.

What distinguishes The Peninsula London is its unique partnership with British fashion designer Jenny Packham. She has designed uniforms for the entire staff, both front and back of house. This collaboration sets a remarkable precedent as the first Peninsula hotel to showcase Packham’s creations.

Clement Kwok, managing director and chief executive of the Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, the owner and operator of The Peninsula, expressed his delight at the hotel’s launch. He stated, “We believe that the investment we have made into this project, the dedication of our people and the project teams we have worked with, and the quality and the attention to detail that we have strived for, will make this a unique hotel that we believe will stand out not only in London but globally, and will be one of the most important hotels in our group for generations to come.”

Earlier this year, The Peninsula London initiated a recruitment campaign across the London Tube network, offering enticing starting salaries of £28,000 and exceptional benefits to prospective employees.

Additionally, the hotel confirmed the presence of two Michelin star chef Claude Bosi, who will serve as the hotel’s chef director. Bosi will oversee Brooklands, the rooftop restaurant offering British cuisine and featuring an alfresco terrace and cigar tasting lounge. The restaurant takes its inspiration from Brooklands Museum in Weybridge, recognized as “the birthplace of British motorsport, aviation, and home of Concorde.”

The Peninsula London presents a diverse array of dining concepts, including Canton Blue, a Cantonese restaurant located in the basement, to cater to the diverse culinary tastes of its guests.
