One of the most provocative thrillers to hit cinemas and iTunes is the new indie release Look Away from director Assaf Bernstein.
Look Away dives deep into the internal struggle of a conflicted teenage girl Maria (played by India Eisley) who discovers her alter ego Ariam when plunged into a period of unrelenting torment from bullies at school, a jealous ‘best friend’, and a callously superficial plastic surgeon father (played by Jason Isaacs).
The poignant plot line, however, is not what ultimately drags you in. The film’s real hook is its verisimilitude to real life, both in terms of accurately depicting the inner struggle of managing civility with emotion (as so many of us face) as well as the succession of unexpected outcomes which occur when Maria releases Ariam into the world to overcome her issues.
Although only released Friday in select theaters nationwide, Look Away is already receiving a groundswell of support from the celebrity/influencer community and has shot up inside the top 50 on the I-Tunes charts.
So if you’re seeking a hair raising thriller for the Halloween Season, look no further than Look Away, available now on I-Tunes for rent and purchase.
