The Splendido is a well-known landmark of the Italian Riviera, perched high on a hill overlooking Portofino Bay below. This newest makeover aims to enhance the hotel’s renowned charm. Return visitors to the hotel particularly like the pool from the 1970s and the terrace area that surrounds it. The Splendido Grill restaurant, which is next to the pool, has been renovated by Brudnizki and his team. The restaurant now features a display of hand-painted white and green mosaics, Murano glass chandelier, and a floor with terracotta-colored flecks. To shield diners from the harsh European sun, a retractable sunroof in complementing colors is available. Redesigning the opulent Baronessa Suite, one of the hotel’s six Specialty Suites, is the last part of Splendido’s initial remodeling phase. The spacious suite features a king bed, a private patio, and a separate sitting area. It pays homage to the area’s famed palazzos with its beautifully restored antique furniture from nearby auction houses, Graniglia alla Genovese flooring, and a headboard made of carved wood.

The team will carefully restore the ancient Benedictine monastery from the 16th century over a period of years, paying homage to the structure’s past while thoughtfully incorporating modern relevance. The hotel will disclose all-new areas during each summer reopening, with the first unveiling scheduled for June 2023. The Baronessa Suite will also be completely redesigned, along with the pool area and a new, cosy, family villa eating experience at The Pool Grill restaurant. The elevated lodging option, which was inspired by the region’s opulent palazzos, would combine the rich heritage and tales of the Italian Riviera with modern comfort and elegance.
