Introducing the Innovative 100-Foot Superyacht: A Floating Luxe Salon

The Sanlorenzo SX100, recently unveiled, occupies a unique position within the Sanlorenzo lineup, serving as a link between the builder’s planing SL models and its semi-displacement SD yachts. Positioned between the SX88 and SX112, the SX100 offers a versatile design that can function equally well as a long-distance cruiser or a luxurious dayboat.

During an onboard visit at the Cannes Yachting Festival, it became evident that the SX100 boasts a contemporary exterior profile characterized by a reverse-rake windshield, robust bulwarks, and an open stern. This sleek exterior design lends the yacht a modern, almost futuristic aesthetic, while still maintaining a sense of seaworthiness.

Upon boarding, one is greeted by a spacious beach club area that expands significantly when its twin terraces are unfolded. Furnished with modular pieces like lounge chairs and ottomans, this area serves as the yacht’s primary alfresco entertainment space.

The beach club also provides access to the engine room, which houses four Volvo Penta IPS D13 engines capable of propelling the yacht to a top speed of 23 knots and offering an impressive range of 1,600 nautical miles at 10 knots.

Forward of the beach club is the lower salon, benefiting from the innovative IPO engine layout. This space, reminiscent of the design found on the larger SX112, complements the exterior deck and offers privacy, making it suitable for charter parties and larger families.

Most of the accommodations are located forward of the lower salon, with the master suite positioned on the main deck. Featuring quadrangular windows and luxurious interior design elements such as suede and nero marquinia black marble, the master suite exudes sophistication.

The flybridge of the SX100 features a versatile indoor-outdoor design, with the helm located on this level, providing excellent visibility for the captain. Windows on either side of the enclosed section can be lowered to allow fresh air into the salon, while the teak ceiling adds warmth and elegance to the space. The aft portion of the flybridge is open, creating an ideal area for alfresco living.

Overall, the SX100 stands out in its category, offering a refreshing departure from more conservative designs typically seen in the 100-foot range. With its innovative features and elegant styling, it sets a new standard for versatility and sophistication in yacht design.
