Mejuri is expanding its Salmon Gold fine jewelry collection with the addition of Montana sapphires, introducing four new styles that launch September 14 online and in stores. The new pieces, a pair of rings, a charm, and earrings, are the first from the brand to feature fully traceable Montana sapphires, paired with Salmon Gold sourced from North America.

The Salmon Gold collection is produced through Mejuri’s work with Regeneration, an organization focused on restoring land and recovering metals, supported by the non-profit RESOLVE. Mejuri became a founding partner and strategic advisor to Regeneration in 2023, investing $1.5 million and securing exclusive rights to purchase gold and silver recovered from legacy placer mine sites. The initiative centers on restoring river habitats damaged by historical gold mining, with the name ‘Salmon Gold’ referencing the ecosystems being rehabilitated rather than the color or composition of the metal itself.

For this year’s collection, Mejuri replaced the lab-grown diamonds used in previous Salmon Gold pieces with Montana sapphires that are responsibly sourced and fully traceable to Montana. The sapphires, known for their natural green-teal tones, deepen the collection’s North American connection. Nicole Ghosn, Mejuri’s Senior Director of Product Design, said, “Last year we used lab-grown diamonds with the Salmon Gold pieces. This year we went looking for a stone from North America, which brought us to Montana pretty quickly.”

Ghosn described the design approach as inspired by the movement of water, explaining that the team looked to natural forms such as ripples and waves when shaping the pieces. The Open Dôme River charm, for example, incorporates several sapphires to evoke the effect of light on water, with tension and partial tension settings that leave much of each stone visible.

Sourcing and production for the Salmon Gold collection are tightly controlled. Gold is delivered to Mejuri from Regeneration’s North American sites, refined in small batches in Italy by Italpreziosi, a woman-founded and B Corp-certified refinery, and then crafted into jewelry by artisans in Thailand. Italpreziosi processes Mejuri’s gold separately from other materials, allowing for full traceability. Each piece is stamped with both the Mejuri and Regeneration hallmarks, certifying the origin of the gold.

Mejuri’s CEO and Co-Founder, Noura Sakkijha, said, “This collection is tied directly to the watersheds we’re helping restore, and that connection has shaped it from the beginning of concepting. Sustainability at Mejuri isn’t a value that sits alongside the product it’s inside it. The way we source, the causes we’re invested in, the natural materials we choose to work with: these are what give the pieces their meaning, and honestly, their value.”

Regeneration’s CEO, Stephen D’Esposito, noted the impact of the partnership, saying, “Our Salmon Gold program reaches the most remote streams in Alaska and the Yukon. With partners like Mejuri, Apple, and Italpreziosi, we bring community and restoration value. The result is a unique piece of jewelry that we can all be proud of.” In 2025, the work reclaimed 11 acres of habitat and restored 1,000 linear meters of streams at sites including Sulphur Creek and Resurrection Creek, with wildlife returning and local First Nations involved in the restoration.

The Salmon Gold pieces with Montana sapphires are available from $498 to $698. The magazine has also reported on Aquae Jewels and its approach to gold and diamond jewelry.
